You know your business better than any consultant will. You also have a day job, which is why the problem stays a hunch. We take your read seriously, watch how the work gets done, and find what's causing the trouble.
Maybe it's a quote that took four days to go out, or a monthly report nobody trusts.
Sometimes the marketing problem is a workflow problem. Sometimes the bookkeeping problem is a pricing problem. So we start with your read, then trace how the work actually moves, name the cause in plain language, and fix it. If it turns out not to be ours to fix, we tell you that too.
That's why Flow, a business consulting firm in Walla Walla, covers five fronts instead of one: formation, planning and finance, workflows, software and applied AI, and brand and communications. When the cause turns out to be next door, we can still fix it.
Getting a new company from idea to open, with the filings, structure and books done right.
We've taken kitchen-table ideas through filings, structure, and their first real books, and helped a young company raise $840,000 to get off the ground. This spring we took a new trades business from formation through EIN, state registration, email, and website in one pass.
Talk about this →Models, budgets, pricing, and the numbers conversations behind your biggest decisions.
You talk to us. We talk to your accountant, your bookkeeper, and whoever else is holding a piece of your business, so you have one number to call instead of four. Recently we rebuilt months of books for a food business whose records had stopped, pieced seven figures of revenue back together from the source systems, and put a two-month stewardship plan under the money they raised.
Talk about this →Finding where your week goes and getting it back, with systems and automation that fit how you work.
For a distributed 35-person team, we built the systems that passed a federal cybersecurity audit. For our own coworking space, we grew membership from five to sixty-four and expanded the floor by a third.
Talk about this →Software, websites and AI built into the way you already work, running on your own processes and data.
For a sculpture studio, we replaced clipboard production tracking with a bilingual shop-floor system: a kiosk at each production stage, every piece visible, on site or off. For a Washington law firm, we built an evidence platform their attorneys use daily to search thousands of case documents. Our own tools run in production too: the Caregiver Log in a regulated care setting, and a toolkit that measures how AI search engines describe a business.
Talk about this →Identity, messaging, and the systems that get one message to a lot of people at once.
Terri has done brand and communications work for more than thirty years. She was marketing director for HighSpeed Communications, a telecom serving eight western states, spent ten years in marketing at Baker Boyer, and ran New Leaf Communications for fourteen years, where the brand, the copy and the media buy came from one desk. Her degree is in fine arts, painting and design with a minor in English, so the same person designs the piece and writes the words on it. Closer to home, that has meant retail packaging for Wine Away down to the prepress proofs, wine labels for River Rock, a naming study for Optimal that ran the etymology before drawing a single logo, and a high school musical program that won best program design in the state. Nick handles reach. He sets up the email, scheduling and member messaging that get one message to everyone on time, and he has carried large groups through change, from a 35-person team adopting new security rules to 64,000 users of a medical records platform.
For candidates in local races we've built the message and the research under it, read the primary results to find where the votes are, written the print pieces, and stood up the website, the email and the finance compliance. Every claim gets a source before it goes to print, because in a campaign the other side checks. The same rule runs Save the Vote WA (savethevotewa.org), a nonpartisan guide Nick built to walk Walla Walla County voters through getting a replacement ballot. Every line on it traces back to the state or the county.
